CB&Q Class HT-13 160287
Title:  CB&Q Class HT-13 160287
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad Class HT-13 160287 at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in June 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. According to the book, CB&Q Color Guide To Freight And Passenger Equipment, by Michael J. Spoor, beginning in 1963 the CB&Q began acquiring 100-ton quad hoppers from Bethlehem Steel Corporation, with the roster eventually totaling 1,570 cars. The first order was for 200 cars which were numbered 160000 - 160199 and were designated Class HT-11. The 1963 cars had sides that were 7" shorter than all subsequent cars, resulting in the HT-11s having a capacity of 3,209 cu. ft. The next order, Class HT-13 ( 160200 - 160399 ), arrived in 1964 and the height was increased from 11' to 11'7" and the capacity was increased from 3209 to 3483 cu. ft. All were painted black, bore white Gothic lettering, and sported full-color Scotchlite heralds.
