CB&Q Class XA-15A 8220
Title:  CB&Q Class XA-15A 8220
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad Class XA-15A 8220 at Dallas, Texas on July 1, 1961, photographer unknown, duplicate slide by Al Chione, Chuck Zeiler collection. The following is from the book, CB&Q Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment, by Michael J. Spoor:

In 1941 the Burlington built 225 automobile boxcars with an inside length of 50 feet 6 inches, a 15 foot door opening, auto loading devices, and a 4,949 cubic foot capacity. These cars, classified XA-15A and numbered 48000 - 48224, had the loading devices removed in 1951 and were renumbered to the 8000 series by simply removing the 4 from their original number. Forty of these cars were outfitted with Evans DF equipment and renumbered to 8300 - 8334.
