Description:
MTTX 98047 was on the BNSF main line in Galesburg, IL on 12-18-2011. It's used in what some call idler service, coupled between a car with an oversized load and another car. Note how part of the load on the car to the right extends past the car's edge, hence, the need for an idler or empty car like this one to provide space and safety for other cars.
