UP 11 double bedroom (11DB) sleeper #1703 STAR LEAF (P-S, Lot #6959, Plan #6008, March 1956/April 1965, ex-Plan #4199 5 double bedroom [5DB] sleeper-24 seat club lounge GRAND ISLAND), rebuilt in April 1965, #1703 applied in August 1969, sold to Amtrak in December 1971 as #2252, converted from steam heat to head end power (HEP) in February 1984 as #2232, retired in December 1996 (stored at Hialeah [Miami] and used as a parts source) and resold in May 2001 to Harry Bechtold (Lordstown, OH). Scanned with an Epson V550 from a duplicate Ektachrome 35mm slide. Date is approximate. Photographer is unknown. |
