KCS Boxcar Caboose #376 - Kansas City Southern |
Description: |
This unusual caboose was originally an exterior trussed boxcar but rebuilt by the KCS shops into a bay window caboose during the 1940's. Initially the cabooses were painted red but later repained in white. Luckily the caboose survives today as a static display in Amsterdam, MO. |

KCS Boxcar Caboose #376 - Kansas City Southern |
Description: |
Very obvious is this caboose was rebuiilt from an exterior trussed boxcar. The KCS shops rebuilt several during the early 1940's since wartime restrictions were in place for ordering new ones. This lucky caboose survives as a static display in a park in Amsterdam, MO. It has been repainted in the original red color it wore when first built. The photo is from the Conniff collection. |
