This was the bedroom side of Amtrak 10-roomette/6-double bedroom sleeper 2707 BRADENTON at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. It was one of a dozen Plan 9503 cars – six for the Pennsylvania and six for the Seaboard – built by Budd in late 1949 for Florida service over the two railroads. This car was originally Pennsylvania 8334, then Penn-Central 4368 and then Amtrak 2707. It was assigned HERITAGE FLEET number 2480; but it was never converted to HEP and it was sold in 1991. As of 2019 the car was at the Florida Railroad Museum in Parrish, Florida as RPCX 999995. (approximate date) |
