WWUX 6618, a 40 foot twin bay covered hopper, assigned to Unimin Sand Company's silica sand production plant
Title:  WWUX 6618, a 40 foot twin bay covered hopper, assigned to Unimin Sand Company's silica sand production plant
Description:  For as long as older Fitzgerald crews can remember, Brownsand, GA has generated carloads of construction and silica sand for CSX, Seaboard System, SCL, ACL, AB&C and AB&A. Due to horrible service, Brown Brothers Sand Company dumped a huge mound of sand across their spur and converted their entire shipping operation to truck several months ago. However, Unimin Sand, located several hundred yards away, produces the higher value silica sand and continues to receive decent service from CSX.
