PAR 2 |
Description: |
Pacific Railroad Society car PAR 2 TIMOTHY B. BLACKSTONE was built by American Car & Foundry in 1950 as a Gulf Mobile & Ohio car of the same name. It was one of four GM&O Plan 9012 cars with eight roomettes, four sections, three bedrooms and one compartment, all of which were retired in 1969. Soon after acquiring the car in 1970, PRS renamed it GOLDEN SUNSET; but it regained its original name when it was repainted in Amtrak colors, as show here, and was later assigned Amtrak number 800367. The car was photographed on the northbound SOUTHERN CRESCENT leaving New Orleans. |
