Description:  Great Northern Railway 1191, 'Twelve Mile Coulee', on the rear of CB&Q Train #32, the eastbound Empire Builder, at Rochelle, Illinois on June 26, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This car was built by Pullman-Standard for the first lightweight Empire Builder, outshopped in January-February 1947 as GN 1191, named 'Missouri River'. It was built as a two double bedroom, one drawing room, buffet-lounge-observation car, Plan 4109, Lot 6751. It was rebuilt in 1955, retained number 1191 and renamed 'Twelve Mile Coulee'. The interior configuration was changed to six roomettes, four double bedrooms, one compartment, and lounge-observation. Between December 1967 and February 1968 the 'Coulee' series observation cars were rebuilt to 68 seat chair cars and renumbered 1300-1304, this car became GN 1301, eventually becoming Amtrak 6802, retired in November 1977, final disposition unknown.
