I was fortunate to having the opportunity to ride this train several times in 1984 from Panama City to Colon. Was this standard guage or broad guage?

This is the original 5' broad gauge build in 1855. When the Panamanians rand the railroad into the ground, Kansas City Southern stepped up to renovate along with standardize the entire line to 4’ 8 ½ “. With some luck, the Panamanian government will not nationalize the new PRR much like Castro did to every Anglo-American business in Cuba in 1959. I have a photo of this locomotive in 1965 in the delivered brown body with yellow stripe. My six year old brother Yancy and I are standing next to the massive locomotive truck.
