B&O power was only used on trains B&O trains between Cumberland and Hagerstown. The Chief on daylight wiould type out a note to be sent to the Wire Chief's office by the Operator at YD Office stating how many B&O engines and crews he would need for that day's business.

Of course that all changed as the B&O took over more and more operations on the Western Maryland in the middle and late 70's
