#8 was first owned by the Hetch-Hetchy & Yosemite Valley Railway (predisesor to the West Side), it stayed on the West Side property its entire working life, although ownership changed (West Side, Pickering, ect...) It went to a private owner in O.R. for a while then in 1978 went to Colorado, I believe it went to the Central City operation first, although I'm not sure. It then went to the Georgetown Loop, it only operated there for a short time before it was put on display and used for parts for the other two shays. When the new owners took over the Georgetown Loop #8 was moved to Canon City and most of the rest of the equitment went to the Colorado Railroad Museum.
