Todd Greenberg General I wonder how long it's been since she's turned a wheel under her own power. 5/15/2008 12:07:36 PM
Braedan Dunne General This can't be CP 3067, since 3067 was retired back in 1993 after getting wrecked in 1991. Records show she later became a rebuilt BNSF 2000 series, 2027 to be exact, in around 2003. The features of this loco are not the same and do not add up to GMD specs. Someone marked this one wrong. 4/4/2015 2:16:02 AM
Braedan Dunne General Sorry about my comment. After further research, I have determined that CP 3067 did not become BNSF 2027, and that this one is CP 3067. 4/4/2015 2:43:20 AM
Jacob Rajlich General I don't think that's 3067 actually...lacking nose headlight, and there's no sign of it having been removed and plated over. Class lights were also cab mounted, not short hood mounted, on 3067. Wonder what's up with this unit though, to be marked as such... 4/20/2015 3:47:31 PM

Braedan Dunne General No this is for sure CP 3067. It definitely doesn't look like it anymore, but there are still a few telltale signs that it is. One and two are the anticlimber and the ditchlight base plates which are exact to CP GP38-2 specs. Another sign that you can't see in this photo, but if you look at the photo posted under CP 3067, the rear half of the frame still has action red remaining and the white sill dots are still visible. The radiator grilles are also the same. 3067 was supposed to become BNSF 2027, but for some reason NS 2790 ultimately became BNSF 2027. 3067 was almost fully rebuilt when it was decided to not have it become 2027, which is why it looks so Americanized. BNSF 2023, which was rebuilt from CP 3077, actually still retains certain features that CP 3077 had. 2027 looks nothing like a CP GP38-2 at all. I'm assuming CP 3067 was such disrepair they decided to leave her out. Even though NRE was so close to getting her up to BNSF specs. 5/30/2016 12:20:55 AM
