Joey Bowman General That is VERY interesting. Id liek to see that in operation, especially to hear the horn :) 8/17/2006 3:21:54 PM
John Kotecki General IORP 100 is NOT a 'cab car'. I contains a primitive wooden 'doghouse' for use by the brakeman for protracted (1/2 hr to as much as 1 hr) reverse moves. Inside the house is a brake "dump' valve, horn control, and a rudimentary plank seat (later cushioned by one of the crew) for the brakeman. All train control is done by the engineer in the locomotive upon the directions of the brakeman. Communications from the brakeman to the engineer is by hand-held radio (and untypically, sometimes by hand signal - tough). 8/4/2011 4:19:34 PM
