This car was one of 100 in the 23000-23099 number series built in the CB&Q shops, Havelock, Nebraska in 1955. They were equipped with Evans DF (Damage Free) Load Equipment, one rail divider can be seen in the open door, and the DF symbol is stencilled on the door. Originally painted in the 1955 standard mineral red paint scheme, this car apparently was shopped just before the BN merger of 1970, and received the pre-merger cascade green paint scheme.
