Ricebore Southern still runs by here with their lengthy trains for Interstate Paper and the Chemical Plant. The last one I had about 65 cars. Of course that is nothing compared to the many Trains that once rolled by here when this was still a through route. Ironically, I began railfanning this area just before the line was abandoned south of Riceboro. Me and my Brother would camp out at Burroughs and wait for Trains. When one came off the S Line, you'd hear it coming but wouldn't see the Headlight until it rounded the curve at Ogeechee Jct. That was in Summer 1985. Sometime that same year CSX abandoned the section south of Riceboro to Thalmann. I was told by a Dispatcher in Savannah it occured in October of 1985. We had planned a trip down exploring this route the following Spring, but it was too late then. This is the best Picture I have seen so far of action on the Everett Sub. Thanks for posting all these!!!

I was here recently!!! The Woods have grown up to the track literally....the siding was removed in the early 1990s...and trees now occupy that space. The Power and Signal Poles are still in placce on the right. riceboro Southern now operates here. the track is pretty beat up today....looks nothing like the high speed mainline it once was....very sad.
