Rich Stasiak General Looks like a GP-39-2 built along the lines of an Alco Century 415. 6/21/2005 11:47:56 PM
Zach Pumphery General Yeah, they had that raised cab and nose for mine operations for better visibility, the front runner for today's pug nosed hight cabbed switchers. It also had higher ground clearence, the fuel trank was higher above the rail, the pilots were higher (though this one has a plate welded on to drop it down to standard size). And the equipment on the bottom of the truck as I know it has been raised. One of these was wrecked because the cab got sheared off by a mine shovel, and some were sold to a leaser and work(ed) for UP with a lowered cab and roof, they still had the high fuel tank though and they lowered the cab roof too much, and had to put a 6 or 8 inch raised portion on the back of the cab roof so the electrical cabinet doors would open. 6/22/2005 1:20:35 PM
