| CB&Q GP30 943, Cheyenne, Wyoming, photographer unknown, Chuck Zeiler collection. Built April 1962 (c/n 27154), it became BN 2220 and was retired December 1981. It would appear that 943 is at the head of the CGI, the Chicago Grand Island expedited freight train which featured pooled power from the CB&Q and UP. It also appears to be an occasion of some sort. I could not clearly read the road number of the steam locomotive in the background, but it is numbered in the Challenger series, so perhaps it is 3985. |
