It was built by GMD (Canada) on 12/51, serial number A271, for Algoma Central # 164. They sold it to Michigan & Northern Railway. I have read that MN got it it 1981 or in March 1984. They renumbered it 1606. MN leased it to Sweet Line Railroad in 1984 (Kelloggs based in Cadillac, MI.) After MN went bankrupt it was supposedly stored on Coopersville & Marne in 1993. Then Wheeling & Lake Erie got it. I can't find a date that they got it or sold it. Next, I found some pictures of it on Southwestern Pennsylvania Railroad in June 1995. SWP sold it to Ohio Central Railroad. Again I can't find a date for when OCHR bought or sold it to GBRY. Gettysburg Railway renumbered it 106 and sold it to either DCLR or a private owner on December 2005.

It went to the DCLR and was repainted by Hyde Power in Georgetown, DE where it sat in the wye for several months before moving on to NC.
