Ex-C&NW track post-bridge replacement
Looking north from Jefferson Street, where a new bridge was just built to replace the 1917 C&NW structure taken out by a cement truck in 2004. The track grade is being raised and realigned slightly for a few hundred feet either side of the bridge to allow for changes to the structure and abutments. The line hasn't seen revenue train service in at least 11 years.

Andrew Fields General So does this mean it's coming back to life? 4/5/2009 3:51:45 PM
Jonathan Hinely General Thats odd that they rebuilt the bridge, and realigned the line, but left the same track 4/7/2009 8:23:05 PM
Atlanta Rails General Are they planning on restoring this line to service? I looked on Live maps and it looks in incredibly good condition, better than some shortline tracks! Strange they would take all this effort for a abandoned line. 4/9/2009 9:13:21 PM
