CB&Q XM-32B 17082 at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in June 6981, photo by Chuck Zeiler. This was one of 1,900 class XM-32B boxcars built by CB&Q's Havelock, Nebraska shops during 1950. A total of 1,400 cars were built for the CB&Q (#'s 17000-18399) and 250 eamh were built for subsidiaries C&S (#'s 1000-1249) and FW&D (#'s 8501-8750). All but 600 XM-32B's rode on Number 79 ASF type A-3 ride control trucks, cars #'s 17800-18399 rode on Number 81 Barber stabilized type S-2-F trucks. |
