KCS 73B
Kansas CIty Southern F7B 73B was the last powered B-unit on the railroad. It was photographed at West Yard, in the New Orleans area, but it was not very common on this end of the railroad.

Micky, what was this one's previous number and is it part of a mother-slug set? I can see unit on left was just a plainjane GP40 77something. I don't remember seeing the 73B on KCS #53 going to L&N.

This unit was always the 73B, and when I shot it, it was still a genuine, powered F7B. It was the last powered B-unit on the KCS; and unlike B-unit slugs 4075-4077, its wasn't very common in New Orleans. I never saw it on Nos. 53, 54, 55 or 56.
