SP SW1500 2509 at Phoenix, Arizona on an unknown day in December 1981, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built in July 1968 (c/n 33996) on EMD Order 7109, it eventually became Northern Indiana Public Service 95. The SW1500's came in 12 orders (three of those to Cotton Belt), with deliveries starting in 1967 through 1973. One wonders why there is red bleed through on the lettering. That's no place for red paint, unless perhaps there was a change of plans. I don't know, does anyone else know? Leave a comment. |
