| Burlington Northern Railroad SD9 6132 at Clyde, Illinois on an unknown day in October 1979, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built in March 1954 (c/n 18989) on EMD Order 5313, it became BN5132 and was retired in August 1986. It was once equipped with a steam generator, note the notch in the frame above the first fuel tank, clearance for a second filler connection for the water tank, since converted to a fuel tank. It still has the stainless steel SD9 model designation plate installed by EMD at the time of construction, but has lost the Mars lights. |
