Old Albany Northern
This is part of the old Albany Northern mainline in Cordele GA. Last year a portion of the line about a 1/2 mile in length was rehabed in anticipation of a new industry. It looks as though that didn't materialize and nature has again began to reclaim the line. This is looking towards Cordele at the highway crossing for the road that goes to Albany/Americus.

Eric Posey General The HOG gets a lot of use the line from here back to their main they for storage of boxcars to the Norbord plant and they use the wye to turn locomotives and passenger cars. If I were them I would have rehabbed more of the old A&N line since there are not a lot of crossings it would have been a great storage line. 9/28/2008 9:39:56 PM
