Old Albany Northern
This is part of the old AN mainline that extends for about 1/2 mile from Cordele. Last year the line has seen considerable trackwork. The section you are looking at now was completly mowed of all grass that showed the new ties and ballast. An anticipated industry must not have cone through as it looks like nature is again taking over. This is looking toward Albany. The line extends for another 500-600 feet from this spot. It now ends at the next street crossing.

Ashley James General It's my understanding some new industries are coming to Cordele, including Owens-Corning in the their new industrial park... would they use this line? 12/7/2007 6:00:24 PM
Eric Posey General Yeah thats what it was fix up for but it fell through, from my understanding is that crisp county power didn't have enough power for them so they wanted to buy some from georgia power and crisp county power told them they couldn't so they didn't locate here. 9/28/2008 9:46:25 PM
