Erik Halstead	General	The locomotive was at one time owned by the Pacific Northwest Chapter NRHS. Along the line they lost interest in the locomotive and ownership was transferred to the National Museum of Transportation in St. Louis. They never took delivery/possession of the engine and it remained here in Oregon. Sadly, the PNWC has begun to move a few of their pieces to the Antique Powerland museum near Salem and have started a cosmetic restoration of an Alco S-2. Not sure why this locomotive couldn't have been moved down there for safe storage and a costmetic restoration - that is better than this. It's the second-to-last Baldwin in Oregon and a unique piece of Oregon's railroading history. It seems, however, that the preservation groups only care about two locomotives, both of which have a 4-8-4 wheel arrangement.	11/20/2009 10:12:29 PM
