| View from the cab of Amtrak P32-8 507 on the westbound Gulf Coast Limited. We are on the CSX heading into New Orleans, and on the right is NE Tower, which closed in September 1990. On the other side of the tower is the main line of the Norfolk Southern, and beyond the signals is KCS train No. 53. No. 53 is led by GP40-2W 4705 and has been brought over from the KCS by an NS crew. It will sit here until the CSX sends a crew over from their Gentilly Yard to bring it in. |
