Dale Weir	General	Notice the track with the single empty gondola on it, next to the microwave tower. In the 60's we used to tie up a caboose there every other night, after a typical 15.5 hour day. The trainmen would bring ice onto the cab. plug the screen wire holes with cotton, let down the bunks and sleep a few hours before heading back to Beaumont the next day. SP Yard 2
Here are the yard office and engine terminal at Lake Charles yard. SW1500 2472 and MP15AC 2709 are coupled cab-to-cab, while SW1500 2669 is by itself. The track curving off to the right was once the beginning of the branch to Deridder.
