| The Espee-Cotton Belt Traffic Dept. was on Commerce Street, just north of the joint SP-SSW yard. The red brick building visible between the front of the Traffic Dept. and the large power pole was the former Illinois Central freigth station, and the ICG track running west off of the Red River Bridge passed between the two structures. Espee trains had to negotiate a sharp curve right behind the building, and it was destroyed by a derailment. |
