| This bridge over the Black River, near Poland(Carsonville), is actually a turntable! It was installed by the C&O, sometime in the 50's or 60's..to replace a failing older wood structure. The Huron and Eastern purchased the line(Sandusky Branch) from CSX in 1986, the line was abandinded just west of hear, to sandusky in 1991, and removed in 1993. Today, the rails still go over this bridge, but the line was last used for storage. |
