Almost every Friday during the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition the Union Pacific ran a special passenger train from Houston to this siding at the fair site in New Orleans. It's 5:00 and one of the Fair Trains has just arrived at its destination. Just a few months earlier, the parking lot on the left had been the former MP Race Street Yard. This was a typical train, with yellow MP GP50 3515 and GP40 612 with staff car CABARTON, sleeper OMAHA, lounge car 6203, and office car 102. |
