This cute 4-6-4T steam loco standing in the Montreal yard was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in September of 1914 as Grand Trunk #1542. When the GT fell into the CN roster, it was renumbered CN 4-6-4T #47.This historic locomotive now resides as the Steamtown Museum where it is on static display. Only 3 of the 4-6-4T's have been preserved. Glad this one was! The photo was taken by well known rail photographer Howard W. Amling. |
