WB. Here is an image of a photo by Chet Fuhrman that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in November of 1967. Prominent here is a Pennsylvania Railroad merchandise freight with a number of autoracks ~ each loaded with a dozen brand-new automobiles ~ passing through "The Hole" under HOMER Tower on its way to Enola and points East. At the right is the now-dormant Westbound Classification Yard; beyond it is the soon-to-be-demolished East Altoona Coaling Tipple. William E. Burket Collection. |
