GE, 12/1974 The loco slid over the the SBD roster as SBD #2803. Not sure it made it to the CR roster. A note on the back of the photo states "In 5/1980 a rebuilt U23B #2803:2 (ex 2818) was relettered with commemoration to the South Louisville (KY) shops since 1980 is their 75th Anniversary. The first 18 years saw the shop build 400 Consols, Pacifics, Mikes & 0-8-0's unitl 1923. And it remained their only backshops in diesel days." This is a Don Faris photo. |
