| BWCX. Here is the third of five successive original photos that I took at the Berwind-White Railroad Car Shops in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 21 July 1961. Partially visible here is the Vulcan 0-4-0T steam locomotive named "Nancy." The builder's badge specifies "Vulcan Locomotive Works ~ 1918." This locomotive was retired during the Winter of 1963-1964, so it served faithfully for 46 years! Here, the focus is on the piston rod, the driving and connecting rods, as well as the driving wheels. |
