BWCX. Here is an original 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Berwind Corporation's Car Shops in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, in September of 1986. Shown here is their GS-4 diesel-electric engine that was purchased from the Pennsylvania Railroad during 1964. Originally numbered "9328," it was built by General Electric in June of 1948 and rated at 380 horsepower. Note that it's missing its front running boards. In the background are the Machine Shops: the original wooden one at the left, the newer metal one at the right. |
