Depicted at the left is the left-to-right flowing Juniata River on its merry way to joining the Susquehanna River and thence to Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. In ancient times, it was the path of least resistance for Native Americans to travel from the Atlantic Coast to the Allegheny Mountains and beyond. |
