Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Andrew D. Young that was taken in Columbus, Ohio, in the Summer of 1955. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6468 and #6478. Both are 2-10-4 "Texas" steam locomotives built in Juniata. Engine #6468 is a J-1 constructed during February of 1943 and retired in April of 1958, while #6478 is a J-1A built in March of 1943 and retired in April of 1958. ("LouisFols"; #5 of 15) |
