D&RGW K-37 493, west of Chama, New Mexico, August 20, 1965, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Number 493 was built by Baldwin in 1902 as a standard gauge 2-8-0, D&RG class 190 number 1105 (c/n 20550). It was renumbered to class C-41 1005 during 1924. During 1928, it was rebuilt at the D&RGW's Burnham Shops to narrow gauge class K-37 493. It was retired in 1970, went to the DSNG March 1981, and is now on static display at Silverton, Colorado. |
