Old Erie structure?
I have no idea what this is. Its right next to the crossing, so Im guessing that has something to do with it. Anyone know more?

This is a telephone booth. Erie had these all up and down the railroad, all concrete. There was a company phone in them that reached the dispatcher. They were notorious for attracting insects, primarily bees and wasps, which would build nests in the upper parts of the booths. There are still a number of these booths scattered along the right of way on what exists of the former Erie. I think this one was at the end of Depot St in Campville, where, many years ago, there was a station, and a siding. The siding was visible prior to the single tracking

and there may still be some evidence of it, but when I lived there, you could only see some ties along the westbound track. There was also an "east siding" alongside track 2 in Owego, where you took the shots of H 88 =and 38T earlier in this sequence.
