| D&RGW GP35 3039 at Salida, Colorado on August 25, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 3039 was built in December 1964 (c/n 29964) on EMD Order 7776, was retired by the D&RGW (or pehaps, the SP) December 1993, later becoming MLR 403. I observed a peculiar situation. perhaps. Trains arriving from the east carried green flags, and removed them upon arriving at Salida. This train arrived without green flags, but will leave Salida eastbound with green flags displayed. A Comment by Rick Erben suggests that perhaps this train is leaving CTC-controlled track. |
