Led by the next-to-last SD40-2 built for UP, CSX train Q606 crosses the Bay Line diamond at Cottondale, FL. UP 3807 was one of four SD40-2s built 11/80 with a "strengthened" engine block (precursor to the 645F engine) and larger radiators with two-speed fans. Both of these improvements were carried over to SD50 production which started just one month later. UP 3807 was later renumbered UP 3277 to make room in the 3800-series for SD70Ms. Date of photo approximate. |
