Tucked away in a small yard in Kansas City, Missouri, is an eclectic collection of power awaiting rebuilding. Seen here is MJRX (Railway Service Contractors) B30-7 849 (ex-Dakota Short Line 849, originally Southern Pacific 7849). Behind it is a primered switcher that has been rebuilt extensively, and whose heritage and model I could not determine. MJRX SD40 9003 is ex-UTAH 9003, ex-CSXT 8371, nee-C&O 7512, MPEX 752 (peaking out in the rear) is also now owned by MJRX but has yet to be so marked, and is the former Utah Railway 9011, ex-CSXT 8398, ex-WM 7547, nee-WM 7447. |
