Ted Brumberg General Built by Pullman in 1949 as a 10 roomette-6 double bedroom (10RM-6DB) sleeper in Lot #6814 to Plan #4140, 1 of 49 such sleepers built in that Lot; 46 of which were built for assignment to SOU trains. 18 of these 46 sleepers were assigned to the ROYAL PALM, including the FRENCH BROAD RIVER, which was owned by SOU subsidiary CNO&TP as #3401. The FRENCH BROAD RIVER was sold to Amtrak in 1979 as #2862. Amtrak sold the car in 1982. For more info, see W.
