On December 21, 2010, BNSF Railway train S-LHACLO1-21A holds the middle main in Fullerton, California, waiting for a meet with Amtrak "Pacific Surfliner" #775 (running about a half-hour late). The green indication on the westbound signal is for the passenger train. The crew on the freight used this break to dodge the raindrops and scurry to the cafe in the station (just out of this shot on the right) for a warm coffee while they wait for their clear signal indication. This was the fifth of six consecutive days of nearly non-stop rain in southern California. |
