High-speed ALLEGRO services between Helsinki and St. Petersburg started on December 12th last year. The travel time is cut to approximately three and a half hours which is more than two hours less than at present. The trainsets are owned by Finnish VR and Russian RZD's joint rolling stock company Karelian Trains. Alstom has delivered four Allegro trains to the joint venture company. Here the train passes the disused Utti railway station, built 1920, on a cold snowing winter day. |
