CP 2860 - Kern Junction, Bakersfield, CA - 3/29/77
In early 1977, the former Canadian Pacific “Royal Hudson” owned by the province of British Columbia made a trip to California to promote tourism in beautiful BC. On March 29th, the Southern Pacific pilot had climbed into the cab of the streamlined 4-6-4 at Bakersfield. Shortly, a clear signal will allow the train to leave Santa Fe rails and, at Kern Junction, and begin its run over the Southern Pacific as the Tehachapi Mountains are crossed. The train will arrive at its final destination, Los Angeles, before sundown.
