| CEFX 6931 SD40-2 has the day off and is at rest at the DGNO/TNER depot in Sherman. Delivered to Chicago & North Western as CNW 6931 SD40-2 in November 1976, this unit was to become UP 3094 but instead went into storage then retired in 2001. After joining CIT Group as CEFX 6931 it spent a few years leased to Dallas Garland and Northeastern in faded CNW paint. Then in late 2015 Texas International Terminals purchased the locomotive and it now works on Galveston Island as TXXX 6931. After departing UP, CNW 6931 lost a plow and nose bell but was given a decorative red oval CEFX. |
