This is an ex-METX, nee-BN gallery car. Santa Fe never owned cars of this type, only hi-levels.

"cab car" refers to having cab comtrols in the car,used in push/pull operation....I grew up riding these trains hn the Chicago area, and inbound trains operated in push mode with the engineer and brakeman seated in the upper level,transforming the rear of the train into the front for inbound operation standard locomotive pull operation outbound)..no need to wye the train at Chicago Union Station
